ABOUT

David Erven Art & Design (D.E.A.D) provides commissioned 3D collage art and architectural design services.

David Erven is a practicing architect, builder and artist. He holds a Masters degree in architecture from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) in Los Angeles, CA. and has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Architecture + Design from the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD) in Milwaukee, WI.

At an early age, David was innately intrigued, influenced and interested in color, form and art. MAD magazine and Saturday morning cartoons had a major impact on his artistic style that began in childhood and has stuck with him into the modern day. With meticulous craftsmanship and a perfectionist attention to detail, David began his career working as a professional architectural model maker. Years of experience from architectural model making manifested into his extreme collage model making. The evolution of his collage work has changed from flat layers of organized images into 3-dimensional physical collage models.

In addition to his art work, David is a full time architect and builder specializing in high end modern residential houses, additions, renovations and restorations. He also enjoys designing and fabricating modern birdhouses. Whether it be his works of art or architecture; his overarching aspiration is to create work immersed in detail that engages its audience by provoking thought and investigation.
